❓ [FEEDBACK REQUEST] Connectivity issues - Kit not reconnecting?

Hi everyone,

We’d like to reach out to the broader SC community to ask you about your experience with Wi-Fi connection. We have received some feedback from some communities and users where the Wi-Fi loses connection (maybe bad connectivity, or network is down) and the kit does not connect back to the network.

Can you share your experiences here to see if we can pinpoint the issue?

Hi! I acquired a kit myself a few weeks ago, and it seems I have to reconnect it to WIFI every once in a while. Can’t really figure out why, unfortunately, but the signal/reception seems stable, and the placement should be in order.

This is similar to my experience. It just drops off and doesn’t seem to reconnect unless I reboot.
I have a fairly robust Wi-Fi installation, based on UniFi APs, using Google DNS…a couple of other IoT devices seem much more resilient (like zappi car charger, heat pump, Telraam traffic sensor etc)
The issue is smart citizen seemingly not reconnecting persistently.

At least I get an email when it drops so I can investigate

How do you get notified when it drops? I’d love to know!

if you go to edit kit on the platform webpage, there’s a Notifications section at the bottom.

Look for option: Kit stops publishing

So, we are working on a branch with some fixes for this issue at the moment, and I’d love to see if someone can do some alpha testing with me… Anyone interested DM me. I’ll also share here the branch once it’s ready…
