Possible bad shield

I cannot connect the SCK with versions Smart-Citizen-Kit-0.8.5, Smart-Citizen-Kit-0.9.0 or Smart-Citizen-Kit-0.9.1.

All versions fail on any call to Wire.endTransmission() contained in SCKAmbient or SCKBase. If I remove the shield, the SCK connects and operates correctly, but without sensor data.

Do I have a bad shield?
