Dear Community,
here I will describe my SCK, hardware, software, location together with tipps, tricks and questions.

  1. March 2014
    Purchase: €320,24 EUR (!!!)

24.03.2014: 2nd Set-Up, because of de-charging battery:

  • I have put some serious (2K) glue on my USB-port now, to prevent it from falling down.
  • I used the "Sandbox" to configure my SCK for the 2nd time..
  • http://sandbox.smartcitizen.me
  • seems like I could set the number of measurements now to save energy..
  • I used sandbox to update the firmware - failed 3x then,
  • I used the Arduino Software and the Beta0.85-Firmware to upload it to my SCK - failed.

  • Now, on the sandbox-webinterface, it's telling me, that I have updated to 0.86 (!)
  • where does that come from???
  • now, it's working again, doi'n data! :-)

Update by Arduino-Software on 0.85 with correct WLAN-settings

2th of April 2014:
With very much help from my local ingenious friends, we somehow put on WiFly_4.41 and SCK_0.86 - Firmware.

Everything seems fine now.

P.S.: Please don’t ship SCKs with
loose usb-connectors,
old firmware (2x !),
too small,
not rainproof housing,
too small capacity of battery,
too small size of solar panel
to any of my friends!

Hi Klaus. Thanks for you persistent tests and feedbacks.

To help you understand a bit what’s happen, the SCK loader have been heavily curated over the weekend together with the firmware, resulting in a new firmware (0.86) automatically loaded by the new working SCK loader…

Then for your Humidity sensor, it’s a bit difficult to see if it’s an hardware problem or a software issue (firmware or server side). I’ll try to dig a bit the issue and let you know soon.

I’ve just updated data.smartcitizen.me to avoid the v0.0. error
Meanwhile I haven’t found the issue with humidity as your kit is not uploading anymore… Post again here if you experience again the problem.

I am learning a lot on this at the moment and experimenting at the same time…

Status Quo:
Uploaded the firmware “by hand” via Arduino-Software - worked, but without my own WiFi-settings! (–>WiFi: 0)
Found the settings in the code, uploaded again, but apparently couldn’t adapt it correctly :-/

I couldn’t do the update on sandbox, BUT:
on the regular web interface! (www.smartcitizen.me)

If you still need the manual update, you should change the line :
#define redes 0
by
#define redes 2
and it should work !

Finally, with the very difficult update on SCK_0.86 and on wifly_4.41 it seems to work now…

Hi Klaus, how did you update the wifly to 4.41? I’m still having 4.01 and the configuration of my SCK with sandbox (0.86) doesn’t change anything in the wifly module.

My last try (without success) was on Thursday: did you change something after Thursday? If not, I don’t think that another try will change my situation but …

Hi @tomasdiez,
I’ve tried last evening and I had to try more then once to have a result.
On smartcitizen.me I was able to configure my SCK: it was recognised, the firmware upload was successful but after the requested reset, the same: blinking blue leds and no data sent!!
I tried to use sandbox.smartcitizen.me without success! When I selected the sensor the web page blocked and I was not able to do anything.
I would say, my SCK is broken and I would like to have a replacement.
It is possible? What do I have to do?
