Looking at both SCK 2.1 and the Station project its obvious there is scope for expansion into a full weather station.
It would need to add some sensors:
Wind speed,
Wind direction,
Barometric pressure normalised to Mean Sea Level, (needing altitude measurement)
Rain counter,
Soil moisture,
Cloud cover,
…
Its useful to measure the weather in the local environment because weather report in the media mostly targets major cities and it can be different where you are. Especially useful for farmers.
Some of this is already mentioned in scope for Smart Station project. I am just wondering how far things have got in this development direction ?
Has anyone done any work in this department, and has something to show ?
Robust Sensors for wind speed and direction can get expensive, its a challenge finding one that’s accurate AND robust.
